Many people needs to keep eye on how much data they transfer on Mac, although they are using unlimited internet connection.
Its ok you are using unlimited internet connection but its not enough.
Here we recommended some utilities, by following these you can make this process very easy. These utilities can surely help you to remain within your allocated usage. It can also help you to avoid any expensive charges.
Surplus Meter
Surplus Meter is most useful application. This is designed with a goal in mind to monitor your broadband usage. I searched many but others kept me on roundabout way of usage.
Surplus Meter will start to tracking your use after you specify on which day of month your internet plan & your monthly download cap starts. A progressbar slowly fills up how much data you are using and feedback is given both in table.
It’s specific, clever and its completely free.
Price: Free
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later

iStat Menus
iStat Menus is excellent application which designed by talented folks at Bjango. This app is capable of monitoring almost every aspect of your system. It also handles bandwidth usage tracking very well.
It only shows that how mane data transferred since you last turned on your Mac. This is OK in many cases, but not OK if you are regularly turn on and off your computer.
The most useful thing of iStat Menus that data transfer is shown separately for each of different devices. The downside of this is that you can see only information of devices currently in use. You won’t see how much data has been transferred if internet cable isn’t connected.
Price: $16
Requirements: OS X 10.5, 10.6 or newer required.

Net monitor
Net Monitor has a wide range of features. You can visualize your network traffic, log your network activity, create history reports, and calculate traffic over time.
In Net Monitor you can specify certain dates between which you’d like to view a report of data usage, which make it very flexible to fit your personal broadband package. This is similar to the free Surplus Meter but it has few more advanced options for the technically inclined.
You can try a free demo of it. I want to suggest here if you are paying for this type of application then you can go with iStat Menus due to extra functionality in other areas.
Price: $10
Requirements: OS X 10.4 or Later
