This is quite surprising news that facebook crossed the google in traffic hits. As we know google is top most website in traffic sense for last couple of years. Lask week we got very surprising news about US traffic.


Facebook reached an important milestone for the week ending March 13, 2010 and surpassed Google in the US to become the most visited website for the week.

This when compared to last year’s mere 2% of US web traffic, is a massive growth to the current 7%. This data has been released by Hitwise and we can make sure of this research, once other online firms release their reports on this incident.

For the first time in the US, the popular social networking site Facebook has surpassed the most popular seach engine Google. It was for the first time Facebook has transcended in peak traffic for such long a period of time.

For the entire week people caught up more on the interaction with pals on Facebook than on Google, however the margin between the two was very thin.According to Experian Hitwise, a company that measures online traffic, published by the Financial Times, for the week ending March 13, visits to Facebook.com accounted for 7.07 percent of all Internet traffic in the United States leading ahead of google that followed it with 7.03 percent.
