WordPress 2.9.2 was released just a hour ago to address a security bug realted to the trash feature. A WordPress user Thomas Mackenzie alerted WordPress about a problem where logged in users can peek at trashed posts belonging to other authors. If you have untrusted users signed up on your blog and sensitive posts in the trash, you should upgrade to 2.9.2. As always, you can visit the Tools->Upgrade menu to upgrade.

There are probably a few other bug fixes in this version but they were not part of the release announcement. If your site only has one author and no registered users, this upgrade is not critical.

If your have a blog/site which has only an Administrator i.e. you, without any registered users, this upgrade is not necessary. On January 4, 2010Wordpress 2.9.1 got released and today on Feb 15th 2010 WP 2.9.2, Within the end of August bloggers can expect WordPress 3.0 which will have lot more options than a normal Blog!
